Meet Ingrid
Ingrid Phlegm- Purvis, founder of Khushatta Hills Ranch, is an entrepreneur, Christian author, retired educator, and United States Air Force veteran whose life's work has been centered on leadership, service, and building stronger communities. With more than 30 years of experience in education—including serving as a vice principal, instructional leader, and reading intervention specialist—she has dedicated her career to helping others grow, succeed, and discover their potential. She also holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration.
Khushatta Hills Ranch is the next chapter of that mission.
For more than five generations, Ingrid's family has cared for this historic East Texas property, located at the doorstep of the Sam Houston National Forest. Since its origins in 1871, the land has provided for others—from producing food for neighboring families to becoming a place of hospitality, renewal, and connection.
Today, Ingrid is transforming that legacy into a destination where guests can slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the beauty of East Texas. Her vision extends beyond luxury cabins and glamping. She is building a place where outdoor adventure, local partnerships, faith, history, and community come together to create meaningful experiences for every guest.
